The schedule is not final, but we’ll keep you as busy as you like!

Since the weekend schedule is packed, we will be starting this convention earlier than the others.  Fear not if you cannot arrive until Thursday—the current goal is to make the early events pay-your-own-way so that registration fees focus on activities that all can attend.

Weekend Schedule

7PM—Meet and Greet at bar local or hotel, following by casual dinner outing/s.

Wednesday

Daytime:

Option One: Entertainment. Museum of Television and Radio & NBC Studio Tour

Option Two: Locals’ Perspective. Visit the thriving ethnic neighborhoods in the outer boroughs.

Meet in the hotel lobby for an outing to downtown NYC.  We will take the ferry to Ellis Island for a pre-paid trip. (The museum is free, but there is a $12 fee for the ferry)

Friday

Saturday

Afternoon Outings: Art

There will be trips to the Cloisters, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, MOMA, and the Whitney. Choose a group based on your own taste in art.

Dinner

Dine-around dinners.  Sign up on the convention Wiki (coming soon) or at the meet & greet for one of several dine-around dinners.

One option will be to some of NY’s best pizza in nearby DUMBO, Brooklyn.

Show

See a Broadway play!  Book your tickets in advance when you reserve, and see the classic Phantom of the Opera.  If you like, you may arrange to see an alternative play (recommendations include Avenue Q, Les Miserables, and Wicked)

Evening:  Gala

If enough people register, we will plan a private cruise around the city (as was done in Toronto) otherwise, we will rent a private space for dinner and perhaps a Seattle-style talent show!

Afternoon: Bus Tour of the City. See the Empire State Building, Grand Central Station, and more

Evening: Dinner Event. Optional outing to Yankee game (advance signup required).

Goodbye Brunch

For those who have managed to book afternoon flights, we will have a final brunch near the hotel, hopefully with a speaker.
